Education & Youth Programs

The Co-op is involved in several programs for Youth including the Youth to Washington program (high school sophomores & juniors), Electricity School (ages 8-18), and the IEC Memorial Scholarship program (high school seniors).

The Cooperative owns two wind turbines: the Pigeon Creek Wind Turbine, south of Quincy Regional Airport and the Brown County Wind Turbine, east of Mt. Sterling. Our staff would be happy to give a tour to your organization or class. To learn more about our wind turbines, click here.

Our staff is also available to give presentations on energy efficiency, electrical safety, or cooperatives in general. We can develop a presentation to suit your needs and audience.

Another educational resource for parents, teachers, and school administrators is TogetherWeLearn.coop. The Touchstone Energy’s Kids Energy Zone and Schools A+ Energy Efficiency Program are featured on this site.

To schedule a presentation or wind turbine tour, contact our Communications Department or call us at (800) 232-4797.
