Rebates

Adams Electric Cooperative's long-time rebate program for geothermal, air-to-air heat pumps, other primary electric heating systems, and electric water heaters ended April 1, 2012. Rebates were established to encourage the installation of electric heating, cooling and water heating. However, today, those systems sell themselves. The overwhelming majority of members constructing new homes in Adams Electric Cooperative's service territory choose geothermal or air-to-air heat pumps.

Rates & Credits

A number of "Switch & Save" programs are available to help lower your overall cost of energy and shave the Cooperative's costly peak demand. Through programs like these, the Cooperative can provide energy to members at a lower cost during the off-peak periods (about 80 percent of the time) if energy usage is curtailed during the peak periods. We would be glad to help you determine which rate works best for you.

Electric Heat Rate* (CHC)

Controlled Heating and Cooling (CHC) Rate is only 7 cents per kWh for all heating, cooling and water heating.  There is an extra $5.00 per month facility charge for the sub-meter.

* The 7 cent electric heat incentive rate is effective April 1, 2011.

Central Air-Conditioner Credit** (LM-CAC)

Put a FREE radio -controlled switch on your central air-conditioning unit and receive an $8.00 per month credit on your electric bill. If you are already on the Interruptible rate, the CAC rate or CHC rate, you do not qualify for this credit.

** The central air-conditioning credit is effective January 1, 2009.

Electric Water Heater Credit (LM-CWH)

Put a FREE radio-controlled switch on your electric water heater and receive a $8.00 per month credit on your electric bill.  If you are already on the Interruptible rate or CHC rate, you do not qualify for the credit.

Residential Time of Day (TOD) Rate

Some members may find the Time of Day rate beneficial based on their lifestyle. All kWh used during off-peak periods (Holidays, weekends, weekdays year round from 10 p.m. to noon) are only 9.5 cents per kWh. The on-peak periods (weekdays year round from noon to 10 p.m.) are 22 cents per kWh.

** The residential TOD rate is effective April 1, 2011.
